The Buckingham Blog

On Saturday we left home and Daddy to go to Grandpa & Tricia's house.  Mummy and Krystal stayed overnight that night and then on Sunday morning, they went away to Gran's house and I got to stay.  All by myself.  I had some clothes and toys with me to play with and we did loads of good things. 

On Sunday we were going to go to New Lanark, but we got a bit delayed, and so we went to the museum of rural life where I saw how farms used to work a long time ago and how it's changed as well as some animals.  The best bit was going on a tractor ride.  It was very bumpy and very fun.

On Monday Tricia had to go to work, and Grandpa took me to another museum in Hamilton where I got to see how different jobs changed how Hamilton was.  Like coalmining.  I even got to crawl through a tunnel like the kids would have done a long time ago.  I really enjoyed it, but Grandpa didn't take his camera so no photos that day. 

On Tuesday, we went to New Lanark.  It was a bit further away.  It was about an old factory to make cotton.  I saw a loom working which was quite clever.  I also got to put on the uniform the kids would have worn back then and go in their classroom.  There was even a big garden on the roof too! 

After we were done looking at all the stuff inside, me and Grandpa went a walk along the Falls of Clyde.  We went about half way, and then we were both really tired so went back again!  We did see some unusual birds though, but silly Grandpa scared them before he could take a photo. 

On Wednesday Grandpa took me down to Auntie Laura's house where Mummy & Krystal were.  I gave Mummy huge snuggles as I'd missed her a lot, and it was good to see Krystal again too. 

I spoke to Mummy and Daddy each night on the phone when I was there.  I got loads of yummy food and treats too.  I had a great time on my first trip away from home.  I've been asking for ages to stay with Grandpa, but there wasn't time in the summer holidays.
