Making Snowmen.jpgOur car was snowed in today, so we got up late, stayed in our pyjamas and watched telly in the morning!  After our lunch, Mummy got out stuff for us to make sweetie snowmen.

Krystal Snowman.jpg

snowman.jpgIt was really easy, we put white marshmallows on a skewer, add a mushroom upside down as a hat, tie a fizzy red lance round for a scarf, use melted chocolate to stick on baby smarties and then half a cocktail stick for each arm.

snowmen.jpgDon't they look very yummy?  Well they were, we ate them after our dinner tonight!

Kory Making Tree.jpgI had my last swimming lesson before Christmas this morning, then Krystal has been sick in the afternoon, so Mummy did our Christmas food craft with me and she did Krystals for her.

Finished Tree.jpgWe made a Christmas tree.  First we got an upside down ice cream cone and covered it with green butter icing.  Then we decorated the trees with dolly mixture sweeties.  We made the snow by squashing meringues and sprinkling them over the tree. And last we put presents on that are square sweets and fudge.

Because Krystal isn't feeling well we've popped them in the fridge for tomorrow if she's better.

Santa Parade.jpgToday was the Santa parade in Aberdeen where he is pulled along by his reindeers.  We got up early to go, but it wasn't as good as it usually is.  We went to Pizza Hut for our lunch after that which was yummy as we've not gone out for lunch since Mummy has been on a diet.

Mid Decorating Tree.jpgA few days ago we put up our Christmas tree too.  Mummy was going to do while we were at school, but Krystal's nursery was closed because of the snow, so the 2 of them put the tree together and the lights on and then after school Krystal and I did all the baubles together.

Guy Fawkes Craft

Krystal Crayon.jpgI failed in doing Halloween crafts this year with the kids, so today set to with the Guy Fawkes one initially just with Krystal while Kory was at school (but I started one for him)

Crayonpics.jpgFirst of all we used coloured crayons to completely cover a sheet of paper which Krystal loved doing!

Painting Black.jpgNext we painted over the whole lot with blackpaint and let it dry in.  Another task Krystal enjoyed, not often she gets to cover every cm of paper in paint!

By the time Krystal and I went to Asda and home, then to collect Kory, did his homework and had snacks, they were dry!

Both Scraping.jpgI gave the kids each their non sharp knives and let them get scraping out fireworks.  When the paint is scraped off, the crayons are revealed giving really pretty pictures.  I had even done one myself to show them how to do it of course :)

Kory Scraping.jpgKrystal Scraping.jpg

Fireworks Pics.jpgOnce they were finished, they were all looking really good, but Krystal suggested some glitter to make them sparkly too.  Why not!??

With Glitter.jpgHere are the finished works of art - can't see the glitter too well in a photo, but they've put them on their wardrobe doors to admire and they really catch the light.

Halloween 3

We had a birthday party this afternoon and we got our dinner there too.  We went to the party dressed up because it was Halloween today.  When we got home Mummy set up a basin of water and put in some apples.  But she was cruel, she removed the stalks except on one for Krystal.  She got hers easily.

I tried for a wee while, but couldn't get one, then Mummy showed me how to do it properly.  She got very very wet.  She emptied out some of the water after her turn to make it easier for me.

Next Daddy had a shot, he got his easily now there was less water.

Then I had another turn, well lots of turns actually.  I couldn't catch my apple at all.  Eventually I did, and I was soaking!

Brambles

When we were on out bear hunt the other day we saw lots of brambles.  So once Mummy checked out if it is ok to just pick wild fruit, Daddy took meback there today (without the camera) to pick some while Mummy and Krystal went shopping for a new bathroom light.

Brambles.jpgWe picked loads of them, this bowl is a pasta serving bowl!  When we came home with them, Mummy had to first wash my jeans that were covered in juice and then wash the brambles of all the beasties.  Once that was done, Krystal helped her make some crumble to go on top and then it went in the oven.

Bramble Crumble.jpgDinner was spaghetti bolognaise which we gobbled down so we could get our pudding!  We had it with custard, and it was very very yummy!

Cake Girl.jpgThis is our first week of the holidays we've not spend travelling somewhere and it's been very nice.  We've had some pyjama mornings, and seen some friends.  Like on Monday we were allowed to be in pyjamas until lunchtime!  Then we had to go shopping for some food.  That was all we did, it was fun.

On Tuesday I had my friend Emily round to play.  Normally it's Kory's friends who come round, so it was nice to have mine over.  Mummy forgot to ask if it was ok to put a photo here, so I better not until we check.  Afterwards Kory went to boxing, it's been ages since he was there.

Krystal Ice Cream.jpgWednesday was chilled again in the morning and then Mummy took us into town in the afternoon to go to the new Baskin' Robbins ice cream shop.  I chose a banana & strawberry one with sprinkles, Kory chose mango tango with mixed berry sauce and Mummy got raspberry sorbet with marshmallow sauce which made her tongue go blue.  I want that one next time!

Baskin Robbins.jpg

Still Making Fish.jpgOn Thursday morning we did some craft with paper plates, felt pens and some glitter.  Kory showed me what to do, he found it in a book and copied it.  Mummy just left us to it for the first time ever.  I think she expected a big mess but we didn't make one.

Fish.jpg

When we got dressed we went to Burger King for lunch and a play, then to Jessica & Sophie's house as we'd not seen them for 4 weeks with all our travels!

Lunch Krystal.jpgLunch Kory.jpg

Theatre1.jpg

And today was a treat day.  First we met Daddy for lunch at Pizza Express and then he went back to work and we went to the theatre to see The Singing Kettle show.  At first I was a bit scared to clap, but I saw Kory and all the other kids doing it and I started to join in and it was fun.  We sang lots of songs and danced in our seats.  We even got the DVD to watch it again.

Bookworms.jpgWe had to wait for Daddy to finish work again and went to the bookshop to look while we waited.  Mummy kept telling us to get off the floor, but it was the best place to read.

I've really enjoyed my week and tomorrow is a Daddy Special morning so I'm looking forward to that too.

Raincatcher

Today Mummy helped me make a raincatcher - I saw someone making it on the TV and wanted to put one in our garden to see how much it rains.  Mummy said at least I'm realistic about living in Scotland in the Summer knowing it'll rain.

Raincatcherer.jpg

Marking Raincatcher.jpgFirst we cut the top off a juice bottle, we then marked the bottom bit with centimetres in waterproof pen.  Next we removed the lid and turned the top upside down so the bit the lid awas on is now inside the bottle.

Raincatcher Kory.jpgWe glued that in place.  Lastly we put holes in the top and put through string so we could hang it on a hook in the garden.

Kids Raincatcher.jpgNow I just need to wait for the rain and see how much it collects.

Painting Pots1.jpgWe've been doing a craft over a few days which has been good fun.  On Friday, Mummy gave us some pots that were a redish brownish kind of colour and we both chose a colout to paint them.  I chose blue and Krystal chose pink.  We painted and we painted for ages until the pots were covered all over.

Pots1.jpg

Then yesterday we got out the glitter glue pens and we drew on them and Mummy  helped us write our names on them.  We had to leave them to dry overnight.

Planting1.jpgThen today we got to put in some mud.  That bit was fun and messy!

Tomato Seeds In1.jpgNext we put in some tomato seeds and some more mud and water.  Now they are on the kitchen windowsill and they are going to turn into plants that grow tomatoes in the summertime.  Yummy!
