James has been off on holiday this week and Kory has had no nursery, so we've been busy doing nothing as usual. Here's what we've been up to....
Monday
We got up early (for us!) and as Kory had an appointment in the afternoon, we couldn't go out for the whole day. So we decided to head to Doonies Rarebreeds Farm which is actually about 2 minutes drive from our house, on the brink of closure and we never go yet complain it's closing. I've been with the kids a few times, but this was James' first visit.

"Hello Kory!"

As we pulled into the car park, we spotted Maria's car. I knew Davie was off this week, but absolutely had no idea they were thinking of going to Doonies, let alone Monday morning. Daniel and Kory were pleased to see each other though.

We saw some really fresh lambs, like less than 12 hours and covered in gunk fresh, eww! Some a little older were in a much better state. Krystal was quite mesmerised, where Kory just wanted to get to the next pen and on to the park!

I didn't take photos of all the animals as that'd be boring, but we saw pigs, goats, cows, horses, chickens, geese and a few of these rasta-sheep (no that's not their rare breed, I have no idea what it is!)

As nature intended
The kids played at the park for ages until we decided we really should get home for some lunch. After lunch, Kory had to go to the Health Visitor for his 4 year assessment.
All went well, he was above average for the academic type of things they look for, though a bit below on drawing. Though she didsay that mostly they look for pencil control rather than drawing a picture, he proceeded to write his name as we were chatting, showing he has perfect pencil control, just doesn't much like drawing!
One thing that came up (as expected) was his speech. Although there is no question about understanding what Kory is saying, he is not forming words correctly. This was picked up at 3, but was told they'd review it at 4 as it should correct itself by then. He speaks a bit like Jonothan Ross, but with other letters too. So R & L are replaced with a W and TH is either completely ignored or replaced with F. One of these on it's own would be ok, but as he's doing several of them, they think he might need to see speech therapist.
Examples:
Lollipop is wo-way-pop, light is wight
Kory is Ko-way, Right is wight
Thought is Fought
When a word has more than one of them it gets messy! So I think it's right to get it seen to now.
Tuesday
When we got up in the morning Kory wanted a shot on the bouncy castle, as was in a previous post. We had a bit of a chilled out middle of the day with the boys playing on the Wii and Krystal sleeping. By the time Krystal got up, it was time for Kory to go to his Thai boxing. As he's been going a while now, I decided it was about time he got his uniform. He looks so cute in it, and it'll last the 3 years he'll be in the class before moving up. Bloomin' expensive though!
Daniel started this week too, so Kory was delighted. It was nice for James to be able to see him training too as he's normally at work when the class is on. I also found out that they are going to be running a summer camp for thai boxing, boxing, wrestling and grappling. How cool! Pretty expensive at £16 a day, but will be something to do some days in the summer holidays.
Photos are Kory & Krystal doing a dancing competition and Krystal dressed as a bat (obviously!)
Wednesday
We had a long lie and got up to some horrible weather. Kory was dry in bed for the 7th night in a row and he'd decided (himself, who knows why) that if he was dry 7 nights he would like to go swimming for a treat. We'd kind of planned a swimming trip anyway in the holidays so when he asked, we thought it was a great reward for him.
We headed to the Beach Leisure Centre. Krystal is like a little fish in the water, I'm sure she'd love to be let go, but when you go to do so, she sinks! We spent about an hour and a half in the water and jacuzzi before Krystal got fed up.
It was the back of 12 by the time we got out so we decided to get something to eat down the beach too. We let Kory choose, so inevitably we ended up in Jimmy Chungs! We had a good feed in there, I thought Kory might explode with the amount of sweet and sour chicken, noodles, prawn crackers, jelly, banana fritters & fruit salad he ate!
None of us fancied doing anything after all that, so we just came home (and did the space canvas) and I went monthly food shopping in the evening.
Photos here are Kory & Krystal getting stuck into their Easter parcels from my Mum, me being "fixed" by Dr Kory and his assistant nurse Krystal (I had pins and noodles!) Krystal chilling out on the trampoline after some hard bouncing and both relaxing watching TV on the couch. They can often be found cuddled up together, very cute!
Thursday
Another long lie was had here (Kory has taken to getting into Krystal's bed and making her giggle, thus entertaining her for a good 30 mins!) and we kind of just hung about in the morning. James wanted to have a day around the house as we'd been running about lots, but I don't do being in well and had a couple of things I wanted to do in town when I had no kids with me. So when Krystal went for her nap, I headed out.
It was bliss, that is until I tried to come home and had not enough for the parking meter and had to go looking for a bank machine and get £10 out for the sake of the 40p short I was. Grrr!
While I was out, James decided to do Easter Egg Painting with the monkey's. Of course egg painting and rolling isn't just for little people so he did a chicken himself and left an egg for me when I got home. I did a bee!
Friday
And lastly today. Yet another lie in here, then we decided to go to Inverurie for the day. Firstly we went to the garden centre where there was a gift shop thathad loads of lovely little bits and bobs that would make lovely gifts, must remember this when I can't think of a present for someone!! We had a nice lunch in a cafe and a wonder around the shops.
It was all promptly brought to an end when Krystal fell over in a shop and bashed her nose on a rail sticking out. She was actually very lucky she hit her nose (between her eyes) as it could so easily have been an eyeball. As it is she has a massive bruise on the bridge of her nose and was very upset. So we just headed back to the car and drove to get petrol and a couple of bits and bobs I forgot when shopping.
Some other things from the week are that Krystal has learnt to wink. She thinks she's really funny andwhen you tell her off for something, she winks at you to make you laugh. Cheeky wee monkey!

Kory got another remote controlled car for his birthday, so him and Krystal were racing them around a course in the playroom!

And lastly, I got a new mobile phone which has been a source of entertainment for me! It was time for me to upgrade in my contract, and I knew I wanted the LG Renoir. I knew other networks had it cheaper, so I called up after seeing a good deal for new customers. They weren't going to give me it, I said I was off to a network who were cheaper as I wasn't paying £10 a month more for the same thing and who reward existing cutsomers before new ones. One quick chat with the supervisor and hey presto, my new phone, which is better, newer, £5 less a month, with unlimited texts and unlimited internet. What more could I have wanted?!
So that's been our week. It's been fun, busy and relaxed all at the same time. The kids are exhausted as you can see from these photos. Next week, I am flying solo again, and Kory isn't back to nursery until the week after. I think I need to get some plans!
