We're Back

Well it looks that way!!  After a lot of messing about, the blog is fixed.  As the problems started when I got my new laptop, we assumed it was a Vista conflict.  But it turned out not to be that as James couldn't upload after a while.  Then I was trying different browsers and James was messing with the code he'd written for it, and the hosting company were putting on "fixes" to the server.

Anyway, nothing has worked, and it's taken so long as James has been doing some freelance work.  The guy he's doing it for has given us free hosting, and now the blog has been moved and works!!!

So now the mammoth task of working backwards and uploading all the photos for all the posts from the 12th August until now.  So please do go back and look!

AGAIN!!

I kept meaning to do a round up last week of what we were doing but kept forgetting.  So here is what I can remember and a load of random photos.

Monday - playgroup in morning and Rambo's with Daniel and Josh in afternoon
Tuesday - school in morning, krystal got weighed (17lb 15oz)
Wednesday - school in morning and went to Leanne's in afternoon
Thursday - breastfeeding group and toddler group
Friday - playgroup then to town for lunch with Laura & Lydia
Saturday - shopping for housey things & James made a proper curry
Sunday - I went to town ALONE!!  James took the kids to Hazlehead park
Yesterday - playgroup in the morning, beach in afternoon
Today - I was on duty at school then as it was such a lovely day we had lunch in the garden and did some housework!!

Krystal is getting very fast now crawling, especially when there is food on the go, she claps on demand and waves when she feels like it. She also puts her hands on her head when I say "oh ma heid" - don't ask!!  She's finally becoming a pleasure to be with most of the time now and not a screamer since she could get herself around the place.

Kory is a total chatterbox - I did feel the urge to use the word "blether" there, but wondered if everyone would understand that, so decided to stick with chatterbox.

Anyway, here are the photos.

This photo is because Kory thought these men were dancing - it's actually a memorial for the Piper Alpha disaster in the 80's!!

New Playroom Floor

It's soft foam tiles that all interlock.  It takes up most of the floor space with just a bit of room for big toys and a toybox round the edges.

It will be easy to wipe clean and I thought it was nice to order their names too.  There are also beanbags in similar colours that can also be wiped clean!

I've been asking around the place to see if anybody needs any web/multimedia work done so while I'm at it I thought I'd put a quick entry on here as well :-).

I got permission just before Xmas from my boss to do this so everything is cool there. The only obvious stipulation is that it's not to affect my full-time work, which is fair enough. So anyway that means I'm now available to take on some freelance work "out of hours" if anybody is interested?

If you are drop me an email at this address and I can send through my CV, examples of my work,  rates etc. etc. Address is : Clarkee21 (at) gmail.com.

I thought I'd better post this news before it becomes old news but one of the websites which I was involved in building while working at Imajica has won an award!!!

The site, Kepplestone has just won the Daily Mail UK Property Award for the "Best UK Developers Website". You can find the details of the awards here:

http://www.propertyawards.net/uk/englishhomes.html

and a list of the nominees here:

http://www.propertyawards.net/uk/winners2006_spcl.html

With it coming in first as well it's now been put forward for the International award ceremonies which are being held in London on the 3rd of November. Even if it doesn't win though I'm chuffed to bits about this and its definatly one for the CV.

Anybody need a website done by an award-winning developer? Let me know ;)

Hi everyone,

Sorry for the lack of blogging recently. We've been on holiday for the past couple of weeks and the house move has typically taken a bit longer than originally planned. Still 3 weeks on and we're waiting for BT to turn our broadband on :(

Anyway, we'll update you on all our news soon so watch this space.

Today was our 3rd Wedding Anniversary. It's been a bit of a non event to be honest, considering for the past 2 years we've been in Florida or Cyprus!! I took Kory to his first swimming lesson to celebrate! We'll probably go out for a nice meal while we're away next week though!

Well Kory said we had a wee bit of news to tell everyone so here we go...

I've got a new job :D

On the 12th June I'm heading back to my old Uni Robert Gordon's University to join their web development team as a "Web and Applications Developer". It's going to be really weird going back there (it was weird enough going for the interview) but it's going to be fantasic to work with an institute as big as RGU.

Here's to better days for the Buckingham family :)

A few cool site

A few cool sites which popped up in my inbox this week.

The first one was the trailer site for the film "Crash the Wedding". Pop over to here and have a go of the "Crash the Trailer" feature. It had me in tears :)

The second one is Google's latest online toy, Google Earth. A bit Big Brother-ish but if you thought Multimap was clever when it first came out you've not seen nothing yet :)

One of the guys at work has this really cool screensaver setup on his machine just now.

It's basically a clock but the way it's been made is really clever.

I've installed it at home now but I thought "what the hell" I'll stick a link to it on the blog so everyone can have a nosey :)

So here you go - Clock Block
