Well I'm not that's for sure!!

While surfing about yesterday lunchtime I decided to do the typical" type your name into Google and see what you get" search. In the top ten came this website www.jamesbuckingham.com - Yes it's a blog by a guy called James Buckingham in Wales.

So anyway while I was there I though I'd put a wee comment on one of the entries to say "Hello James, it's James Happy New Year" :-)

Now you might be thinking, yeah that's cool but so what? Well have a look at the design of the site as well?? It's the same as ours. How spooky is that??? It's not even that common.

Checking my emails tonight I got a message from James (that's the other one) who has put a comment on one of our entries here. He's also put an entry on his blog about all of this as well. How cool :-)

I now feel drawn to hitting the old search engines again to find more James Buckingham's around the world, as James says (not me the other one :-)) it feels very Dave Gorman. Maybe there are even more James Buckingham's reading this blog? Who knows!!!

I've been asking around the place to see if anybody needs any web/multimedia work done so while I'm at it I thought I'd put a quick entry on here as well :-).

I got permission just before Xmas from my boss to do this so everything is cool there. The only obvious stipulation is that it's not to affect my full-time work, which is fair enough. So anyway that means I'm now available to take on some freelance work "out of hours" if anybody is interested?

If you are drop me an email at this address and I can send through my CV, examples of my work,  rates etc. etc. Address is : Clarkee21 (at) gmail.com.

Well Krystal turned 8 months old today. It's gone by so quickly and I can't believe that she's been sitting up for 3 months now as well..Woosh!!!

She's still not managed to pull herself up onto the side of the couch yet but she's keen to stand and walk around if you hold her hands. Now I've said that she'll probably start tomorrow

Happy "mini" Birthday Krystal.

Love,
Mummy & Daddy

If you think Jack Bauer has a tough time of things imagine what he had to deal with back in 1994...

Blog problems

Some of you might have noticed recently that the blog has been going online/offline like a yo-yo over the past few weeks. We've also been having problems in the admin area as well. Hence the lack of entry recently.

I've spent the past week bouncing emails back and forth to the new hosting company that we're using about the problems and without going into any great detail it looks like the server wasn't coping with the demand being put on it!

Anyway just last night we were moved to a new server so hopefully things should start settling down a bit now. Fingers crossed anyway but if anybody does happen to see problems with the site can you drop me an email and let me know? My address is Clakee21 <at> hotmail <dot> com.

We've been writting the blog now for three years. Can you believe it?!? Well I say we, it's mostly Julie's hard work which has kept it going for all this time actually .

Was just looking back at some of the old posts from when we first started posting. It's amazing how much of our lives are actually stored in these pages. In fact you can pretty much find information on every day of Kory and Krystal's lives from the very minute they were born.

Well here is to another year of blogging all the adventures and going on's of the Buckingham family.

Googlewhack

"A what" I hear some of your say?!?

Last night we watched a comedy show called "Dave Gorman's GoogleWhack Adventure" . The theme of the program surrounds a game called Googlewhacks and Dave Gorman's obession with it. It was actually quite funny but more in the way he tells his story rather than what he's saying.

So what's a Googlewhack and how do you play it?

Simply put, using Google you have to get it to return a single result using two words.

There are some rules though:

1) You're not allowed to submit the words in quote marks.
2) The words have to appear in Google's Dictionary - http://www.answers.com. Rather than having to keep popping back and forth to here the way you know it's correct is by making sure that the words are underlined and linking to the dictionary in the blue bar at the top of the results page.
3) Also in that bar it should say "Results 1 - 1"
4) Finally, Google has to show the two words in the excerpt of the page in the results. If it's in a list like a dictionary, glossary, thesaurus etc. then it doesn't count.

Not so easy now is it

I'm not going to put an example on here as it will probably be out of date by tomorrow morning so have a look at the official site www.googlewhack.com. Have a go and if you do manage to get one then you submit it to them. Oh and don't forget to put it on here so we can look as well .

Look at this. It's me doing a blog on our daily going-ons for a change .

I've been on holiday this week so I don't have an excuse not to do it this time. Not that I try to avoid it but the rest of the family tell these things better than me anyway.

Right, enough waffle....

A busy little week so far. Yesterday started with Julie going to the doctor's to get Krystal checked over again. Her rash on her face still hasn't gone yet and apparently it should have by now. We've now got cream for it which seems to be doing the job so far.

Rather than waiting for them Kory and I went down the supermarket to buy some yummy ingredients for dinner. It's only the second time we've cooked it but we decided to make Mango & Chicken yummy!!

After lunch and the kids had their sleep we headed off down the beach. We thought we'd try and avoid the need to park in the city centre and then have to walk down the beach for this year's fireworks display. Instead we took Kory down to Rambos for an hour to let him have a play and build up an appetite for dinner.

When his belly did start to rumble we headed off to Jimmy Chung which is a local chinese "All you can eat" buffet. It's the first time we've been to the one down the beach and it was actually quite nice and the range of food was HUGE! We had loads and Kory, although saying he was full-up, managed to polish off 3 tubs of jelly. "1 Red, 1 Green and 1 Orange" as he kept reminding us all night!

DSC06989.JPGOnce we were all stuffed we headed back to the car to get all wrapped up for the fireworks display.

In case you don't know everyone in Aberdeen goes to a large field just at the side of the Amusements.

DSC06995.JPGWe didn't tell Kory but we had a surprise for him...Glow Sticks. Here's a wee picture of Julie and him with them. He was chuffed to bits!

DSC07012.JPGThe fireworks were slightly late in starting but once they did start they were actually quite good for Aberdeen. Usually they're rubbish! The rain stayed away long enough as well which was good.

DSC07009.JPGKory was a bit scaried of the noise but even with his head buried in my shoulder he still couldn't help but watch them. Krystal slept through the whole thing until the very end. Typically when we had to head home  .

The kids were completely knackered by the time we did get back though and Kory actually did seem to enjoy himself. He's still going on about it today and pretending to be a firework hehe.

Anyway it's getting late and I've gone on long enough.
