Week Away

As Kory's mentioned, we've been away for a week and been so busy so this will be a long blog entry!
We left on Saturday and headed down to my Dad and Tricia's house, arriving about lunchtime. After a quick lunch we headed to Strathclyde Park where we walked along the lakeside, went to a playpark and played with leaves.
We then headed to the other end of the lake (by car) where there was another park. This one had zip slides, 3 way see-saws and strange spinny things that I had a shot on. I felt yuck afterwards! Was a bit like a gyroscope in the way it moved. Never again!
The kids then got an ice cream and we moved to the lakeside while they ate it. It was a slow process so I set about getting some photo's of the sun setting over the lake which was gorgeous. All the while being eaten by midges.
We went back to the house for a while before heading out to Di Maggios for a meal. I was so good sticking to my diet too (lost total of 24lbs now) and the kids had a fab time playing and eating as usual.
In the morning, Kory was desperate for Krystal and I to leave, asking when every few minutes. We took the hint about 11:30am and headed down to Kilmarnock to meet Mum, Laura, Jamie & Owen at a wedding fair. It was the first I've been to and the fashion show was great.
On Monday morning Laura & I took Owen & Krystal into Ayr. We did a wee bit of Christmas shopping, but didn't get too far as Krystal kept crying that she was missing Kory which was really sad to watch. We gave up and headed home!
On Tuesday we had an early start - bridesmaid dress shopping! This time Owen stayed with Jamie and just the girls went. We actually chose one this time which I really love and is so flattering. At the last minute Laura changed her mind on colour too, the new one is stunning, can't wait to wear it.
We took Krystal over to Mums work afterwards as I never quite made it in with her as a baby. Then we headed to Irvine to go to a shop called XS which has cool stuff then food shopping, phew! We stayed there for dinner that night, then Krystal had her bath with Owen which they enjoyed.
This photo was taken when both had their pyjamas on - so cute!
On Wednesday we went to Laura's in time for Dad to arrive with Kory. His wee trip was over and he was delighted to show us all his drawings and masks that he'd been doing at the places he'd visited. Dad stayed for a couple of hours then headed home to recover and sleep! We just chilled in the afternoon.
That night the kids had a big Gran bath, Krystal wasn't into the jacuzzi bit this time so got out while Kory was up to his neck in bubbles!!
Thursday is the day Mum doesn't work, so we got sorted and headed for Culzean Castle. We decided to try all the carseats in Tom's taxi and discovered they all fit, yay! So off we went, all 3 children pleased with this arrangement.
We walked around the castle, down to the beach, played with the cannons, went round the gardens and went the clifftop walk. We then stopped for a refuel - sandwiches, cereal bars, fruit and drinks. With the energy levels topped up, off we went to the adventure playpark.
There was a really high zip slide which Krystal announced she wanted a shot on, so off she went! Not a fear in the world.
We played there for a while, and even Owen got in on the act.
We all went back to Mum & Tom's house for dinner that night. It was a hard day for all the kids though!
Friday was coming back to Aberdeen day. I had decided to break the drive a bit with a stop off at my Gran's new place. She moved into sheltered housing a wee while ago. Each time we go down the road we practically pass the end of the street, and have never been in. So we rectified that with a flying half hour visit.
We went for lunch with my Dad over in the shopping centre before hitting the road home. And what a drive it was. The rain was torrential. Really bad to the point I wanted to pull over because I couldn't see. But I also couldn't see where I could pull over. I just slowed right down. Luckily the kids were asleep at that point. By Dundee the weather was lovely again.
We picked James up from work and to say the kids had missed him was an understatment! Now back to reality of washing ironing and the school run.
