Big Girl

Krystal has been such a big girl today that I wanted to write on here how proud I am to be her big brother.  First of all at dinner time, she used her cup without a lid on.  She did make a little bit of a mess, but mostly she got her juice in her mouth.  I was showing her how to do it.

When we went upstairs for our bath, Krystal asked Mummy is she could sit on the potty.  Mummy took her nappy off and she sat down and did a wee AND a poo.  She was a bit scared after and she cried, but I was very excited.  She got a jelly baby for being such a big girl and I got one too for sitting with her yesterday reading her a story on her potty so she wasn't scared to sit on it.  Mummy says if I didn't do that with her she'd not have used it tonight.

I'm so glad Krystal is getting to be a big girl, we have loads of fun together now, and when I ask her questions she answers me.

P.S.  There is a photo of Krystal drinking out the cup, but the  blog won't let me put it on just now.

First Snow

I'm so excited, I got up this morning and there was snow!  Not a lot, but it was really nice floaty snow, not the sleety kind we had last time.  I walked to nursery with Gran in it, but it was very slippery.  I wore my welly boots, my hat and scarf and my gloves too.

Mummy isn't very impressed, she says if it's snowing in October, it's going to be a long Winter as snow doesn't usually come till later.  But I think it just means Spring will come in March when it's supposed to and not in June.

I hope it snows more soon so that it's enough to go out and play in.  Maybe Gran could help me build a snowman.

Blair Drummond.JPGYesterday we got up early because Daddy was going to treat us to a special day out at a place called Blair Drummond Safari Park.  It was a long way in the car to get there, but it was a very sunny day, so it was a nice drive.  We even stopped at a big Tesco in Dundee to get some extra food for our picnic.

Rhino.JPGWhen we arrived at the park, we drove round a big drive and saw all the big animals.  Krystal was so small she couldn't see from her seat so had to go in the front on Mummy's knee.

Zebra.JPGWe saw elephants, lions, tigers, giraffes, zebras, ostriches, bisons, big cow things, rhinos, camels and loads of other animals.  They come right up to the car too.

Picnic.JPGAfter that we went and parked the car and got out to have a picnic.  It was very hot outside, and our lunch was fun.  We had sandwiches, eggs, chicken bites, crisps, juice, cheese things and loads of things like that.  Once we had eaten it was time to play in the pirate ship and sandpit and castle.  We had great fun.

Giraffe.JPGWe then went a walk and got really close to the giraffes, elephants and zebras.   Kids Elephants.JPG

James Krystal Boat.JPGWe waited in a little queue and got on a little boat.  It took us to an island where the big huge monkeys live.  They are called chimpanzees.  That was great fun.

Lemur Land.JPGNext we went across a bridge to a different section called Lemur Land.  It looked really fun, but it wasn't.

Hiding Lemurs.JPGWe walked round a big bit where we thought we'd see loads of Lemurs.  But they were all in the one space, hiding together under a shelter sleeping.  How rude.

Kory Julie Castle.JPGWe went back to the park for a little while where we went in the maze and Mummy took me up the high castle and we went down a really hugh chute that was curly and even Mummy said it was a little bit scary.

Down the other end of the park, we went to see meerkats, penguins and sealions.  Then we saw a big brown bear from the bridge.

Albino Wallaby.JPGNext we went into the pet farm it was called.  There were pigs, little ponies who loved to be stroked, and little baby kangaroos.  There was even a white one with red eyes.

Sealion.JPGThe last thing we did at the park was go to the sealion show.  We went inside to a big room with a stage and a pool in it and saw 2 sealions do some cool tricks.  They are really clever waving at me and clapping.

After that we had to get back in the car.  It had been a very long day, and Krystal and I were asleep before we got out of the park!

Wild Animals.JPGWe stopped off in Dundee again for some dinner as it was 6o'clock by then.  When we got home to bed it was much past my bedtime, it was 8:30!  I was very very tired today for nursery, but it was worth it, us 'wild animals' had a lovely day out, thanks Daddy.

P.S.  Daddy spotted a hot air balloon on the way home and thought it looked pretty over Perth, so here we have a photo!

1st Day at Nursery

Leaving Home.JPGToday Kory started school nursery.  It's something we've been building him up for since his visit back in June, and it seems that it worked!  Instead of the expected tears, he got out of bed as high as a kite.  Normally it takes him until about 10am to come alive, but this morning he was a flying horse (apparently!) at 7:30am!!  He was hyper all morning.  James had taken the day off work to come with him and to look after Krystal as I had to stay with him today.

Crossing Road.JPG

At Nursery.JPGHe waved to James outside quite the thing, and in we went!  He found his peg, put his wee bag on it and his jacket.  Then off he went to play while I filled in forms.  I thought he might be a bit funny, but he wasn't.  He knew a few people already, Holly was there, and 2 of the boys from the old "baby group", a boy from our street, an old neighbour and a couple of kids from the playgroup we went to.  They recognised him which was nice.  Later in the week, Daniel, Jessica & Sophie will join him there.

By the time we had to go, he didn't want to, and made the teacher promise he could come back tomorrow!  So he's going in alone tomorrow, yippee!  I am so surprised how he's been about it all, given how cried at his 2's group before it ended!!

Where did my wee baby go?!

Mamma Mia is my favourite song just now, I insist it goes on in the car.  Even Krystal likes it now it's on so often!!  "Digging the Dancing Queen" is my next favourite one.  So here is me singing some of it, but I think I forgot the words.

Painting Pinecones

Painting Pinecones.JPGThis morning we got out the pinecones that we got in Cyprus.  We chose them because they were open and all dried out and the ones in the parks here are always soggy!  We took them out in the back garden and painted them gold with sparkly glitter bits on them.

Pinecones.JPGThey looked really good afterwards, but Mummy was covered in glitter.  She looked like a Christmas Fairy.  Once it gets near Christmas time, we are going to get some cinnamon smelly stuff to put on the pine cones too.

Kids Garden_7644.JPGKrystal and I got to play in the garden for a while after that as we were dirty already!

Brave Boy

Today Kory had his pre-school booster injections, well 2 of them (last 1 in a month) and he was such a brave boy.  I had told him on Friday about them as he needs to know stuff in advance, and he totally freaked out.  Expecting the same today, I arranged for Krystal to go to Maria's house to play. I told Kory he could come with me to doctors if he wanted.

On the way in the car, he asked if we were off to get his jabs done.  I said yes we were, and he was fine.  We got in the waiting room and he sat reading a magazine (Menopause Matters!!!!)  then he was called and again fine.  He asked the nurse if she'd give him sweeties as he's been with us when Krystal had jabs and she got sweeties.

He climbed up on my knee, and got one in his left arm, got a sweetie, then turned and got one in the other arm and a second sweetie.  Not a peep from him other than on the second one he said "oooh that one hurt"

I was so proud, not to mention surprised, that we went and got him a magazine this afternoon.  He's not normally allowed them so this was a real treat!

It's been a week since I planted my cress men so thought I'd show you what they look like now.  I'm the winner, mine grew faster than Mummy's.  That means I'm the best.

Lots of Gardens

Just a quick blog tonight as I'm very tired from being so busy and all this nice weather!

Tired Kory1.JPG

  •  Wednesday - it was a really hot day.  In the morning we went to Hannah's house and we played on Holly and Natalie's new trampoline.  We then had a picnic lunch (inside as it got too hot outside) Mummy's hayfever got really bad so we came home to get a tablet.  Krystal fell asleep in the car so once mummy took the tablet we went to Maria's house.  I played in the garden in the paddling pool with Daniel.  When Krystal woke up we all got ice cream which was yummy!

Krystal.JPGIce Cream.JPG

  • Thursday - we had a quiet morning in the house.   We picked daddy up after lunchtime as he and Mummy had doctors appointments.  We met Daniel at the doctors too so we had an unscheduled play!  Then I went to Asda with Mummy while Daddy cooked a yummy dinner!

  • Friday - this was cleaning day.  Mostly this means Krystal and I play (otherwise known as "making a mess faster than Mummy can tidy it" which makes Mummy cross with us!) while she cleans, but I helped with the dusting.

  • Today (Saturday) -first of all we took Daddy to the garage to collect our own car!!  But I don't like it any more, I want to keep the one we've had for the past 3 months.  Daddy says our one feels very heavy and slow now.  When we got home, Daddy and I cut the grass and Mummy cooked a fry up for us to refuel as it's hard work cutting grass!  Then when Krystal went to bed, Daddy was rearranging some concrete border things to make a new vegetable patch for me.  Mummy was pretending to look busy (that's what Daddy said!) but she was looking after me and Krystal when she got up.  I was helping Daddy.  Once we were done I went for a shower.  I never really have them, always baths, so that was fun!

Snack Time.JPGMucky Pup.JPG

We had our snack in the garden and Krystal poured my juice all over herself!

I found a wiggly worm to show Krystal.  Me helping Daddy carry heavy bricks!

P.S.  Scruffy still has his head on and my dummy is still inside him.  I know some people thought I would rip him apart, but I'm a really good boy and don't need my dummy now to go to sleep.

Smiley Kory2.JPGToday is a very hot day, so this morning after we got dressed we went to Homebase to buy something for the garden to do this afternoon.  Mummy got pretty flowers for her tubs.  I got to buy some vegetables, I got carrots, peas, cress and spinach.

Picnic Lunch.JPGWhen we came home we had a lovely picnic lunch in the garden, then Krystal and I played for a while.

Krystal Piglet.JPGThen when Krystal went to bed, me and Mummy got out some coloured pens and water and tubs and kitchen roll.  We drew faces on our tubs and Mummy helped me write my name on my one.  Then we put in our kitchen roll and I poured the water.

Kory Picnic.JPGNext we sprinkled our cress seeds on the top.  Mummy says that when it starts to grow, our little men will get hair and we can cut it.  She says we can eat it too, but that sounds yucky!

Here is a photo of them today and I'll keep taking some to show you how they grow.  Mummy has done one too so we're having a race to see who's grows fastest!
