So it's the Easter holidays and they're really flying past in a flurry. On Sunday (Mothers Day) we went out after dinner to see the dolphins in the harbour. As the kids normally go to bed after dinner, this was a huge treat to stay up until 9pm! This sunset was taken then (you didn't think I actually captured a leaping dolphin did you?!)
On Monday, I took the kids to a cafe they'd been asking about for ages for a cookie. Simple things eh?!
Tuesday was a more interesting day, our Sky box broke so the morning was spent on the phone trying to get that fixed, then at lunchtime we went to the cinema to see "Hop" which was actually a lot better than I expected it to be. This trip was followed quickly by the usual boxing class and 2 exhausted kids!
Wednesday was a bit of a write off. James had a doctors appointment for minor surgery, so was working from home, and I had the dentist as I'd broken a tooth. Kory was refusing to get dressed so he could "rest" as he's so busy all the other times with school.
Today I decided we were not sitting about again, so early up and out to Doonies Farm, the rarebreeds farm near our house. We spent a couple of hours feeding the animals, cooing over the lambs which were less than a week old, the calf, the foal and goats.
Then it was time to play in the park. By which time I was frozen! I had packed a lunch, but on discussion with Kory, we decided that it was actually just too windy and cold so headed home for a picnic lunch in the living room.
I got a message then asking if I was heading to Brewsters like a normal Thursday, which I hadn't been planning on, but decided to just do it. Kory hasn't been there for a long time, and really enjoyed it. One of the big sisters of the usual crowd is in his class at school so they had a great time playing.
Needless to say, I had two very very tired children by bedtime tonight!
