it was quite a warm day, and the kids had asked for ice cream the last time we went to Stonehaven, but I had no money, so we decided today was the day to head down for some.
After their ice cream, the went down to the shoreline and spent ages throwing in stones and running away giggling their heads off when the water came near them.
We sat on the wall chatting and watching the sun going down before we headed back to the car.
I love spending time with my babies. I love how they have such fun together and especially how they adore one another. It was a really lovely easy & happy day out.

Today was a nice day so we went to Drum Castle for the first time this year. We really like it there in springtime as there are daffodils everywhere. Mummy loves to take photos of them.
The castle itself was shut because there was a weddiing on there, so we went for a long walk around the farm area to the side of the castle.
We then went to the park to play for a while which is mine and Krystal's favourite bit of going to Drum.
Even Daddy was having fun!
It was a really fun day out, I'm sure we'll be back soon.
Love

Holiday So Far

So it's the Easter holidays and they're really flying past in a flurry. On Sunday (Mothers Day) we went out after dinner to see the dolphins in the harbour. As the kids normally go to bed after dinner, this was a huge treat to stay up until 9pm! This sunset was taken then (you didn't think I actually captured a leaping dolphin did you?!)
On Monday, I took the kids to a cafe they'd been asking about for ages for a cookie. Simple things eh?!
Tuesday was a more interesting day, our Sky box broke so the morning was spent on the phone trying to get that fixed, then at lunchtime we went to the cinema to see "Hop" which was actually a lot better than I expected it to be. This trip was followed quickly by the usual boxing class and 2 exhausted kids!
Wednesday was a bit of a write off. James had a doctors appointment for minor surgery, so was working from home, and I had the dentist as I'd broken a tooth. Kory was refusing to get dressed so he could "rest" as he's so busy all the other times with school.
Today I decided we were not sitting about again, so early up and out to Doonies Farm, the rarebreeds farm near our house. We spent a couple of hours feeding the animals, cooing over the lambs which were less than a week old, the calf, the foal and goats.
Then it was time to play in the park. By which time I was frozen! I had packed a lunch, but on discussion with Kory, we decided that it was actually just too windy and cold so headed home for a picnic lunch in the living room.
I got a message then asking if I was heading to Brewsters like a normal Thursday, which I hadn't been planning on, but decided to just do it. Kory hasn't been there for a long time, and really enjoyed it. One of the big sisters of the usual crowd is in his class at school so they had a great time playing.
Needless to say, I had two very very tired children by bedtime tonight!

Cove Outing

Today Krystal and I went on a wee adventure. It was freezing, but no actual frost, snow or rain - well not to start with anyway. We headed along the coastal road and parked up and walked under the railway bridge and down to the coastal path at a bit I've never been before.
There was an old ruin, a compass bollard and loads of beautiful caves and alcoves where the waves were crashing.
The clouds started to look a bit ominous - so I decided it was time we headed back to the car, these people clearly had the same idea.
Only their legs were longer than wee Krystal's and I reckon they made it. We didn't, Krystal got upset I was going too fast and got hysterical and wouldn't walk. So I just sat down on a rock and took some photos (as you do) as it was actually quite cute!
The rain had gone off by the time we got back to the car but I'd had enough by then!
We picked Kory up from school and they did some boxing practise together!

Today was a very sunny day and very windy. We had a bit of a lazy morning because we were up late last night and then we drove past Stonahaven to a place called Dunnotar Castle.
It's an old castle on a cliff that is a bit ruined now. We didn't go inside but played around for a while on the clifftops and then went right down to the bay area at the bottom.
There was a stoney beach with loads of pretty stones, shells, crabs and even seagull skeletons. Daddy was teaching me how to skim stones, but I couldn't do it. Me and Krystal liked throwing them in instead.
We stayed down there for about an hour, Mummy even gave Daddy a shot of her big camera so she's in photos for a change.
Then it was time to climb back up the hundreds of steps back up the cliff. I got sore legs and we had to go slowly.
By the time we got back to the car we were all very sweaty so we went into Stonehaven for ice cream at a place called Aunty Betty's. It was really yummy and there were loads of sweeties on the top.
When we came home I watched the rest of the football with Mummy on the couch. It's been a really busy weekend and we're all exhausted now!

Mummy edit: last night at Disney on Ice, the kids got a Mickey disposable camera. They took it with them today to use the 27 shots in it. Sounds simple enough right? Wrong. James and I were made to feel very old trying to explain that no, they couldn't see the photo after they take it, no they can't delete if it's rubbish and the winding on thing confused them no end. This photo is of them trying to work out this complicated device! Of course next came explaining that no we couldn't put them on the computer when we got home, we had to take them to a shop to be processed.....
London Trip

Last Thursday (10th) was a busy old day. After school, I picked Kory up, got him changed and then headed to picked up James from work. We went for some dinner and then to Aberdeen airport for an evening flight to London to visit Coral and Chad (James' parents).
Before I ramble on about the whole trip, I know it'll be long, with loads of photos, but given I'm no longer sure anyone else looks at the blog but them, this is for our own records and for them!
So anyway, we arrived at Heathrow about 10pm, got our luggage and the kids ran to get their grandparents! On to the underground and across London arriving in the flat about 11pm. After a quick bit of toast (yes they were hungry so late!) the kids went to bed.
On Friday morning we had a chilled morning to recover them a bit, a wonder around Harrods toy department and strangely the pet bit. I seriously now have seen *everything*!! After some lunch and an attempt to get a grouchy Kory to have a nap, we headed to the London Eye or whatever it's called now.
Kory wasn't so sure about going up in it as it's so high, and it does look daunting from down below, but was fine once we were on and he realised how slowly it moved. It was a bit of a dreich day, especially for decent photos, but we all enjoyed it.
And then it was time to head for a treat for dinner via Big Ben.
We went to the Rainforest Cafe. The kids' mouths were hanging open walking in, seeing the animals and a thunderstorm happening as we were eating. They (as was the theme of the weekend) ate lots and got their pictures taken with the frog mascot.
On Saturday morning we made our way to Hyde Park to feed the squirrels some nuts. Getting photos of this in action was easier said than done, I have many photos of squirrel bums! But I do like this few.
On through the park, we went to M&S to grab a quick sandwich before heading to the Natural History Museum. It was an impressive building from both the outside and the inside.
The first thing we saw was a skeleton of a Diplodocus which amazed Kory. Then we queued for a while to get on to a walkway to see other dinosaurs.
It was actually too busy to move let alone see anything right until the end which was an animatronic T-Rex.
We saw loads of stuffed animals, replicas of animals and I couldn't resist a photo of Krystal next to the other crystals!
Off out for a meal to ASK! afterwords as Coral had some vouchers. It was very yummy, the diet kind of went by the wayside at this point with wine and pudding! Ooops!
On Sunday morning we headed back towards the London Eye, but this time got on a boat on the Thames instead. We were on for about 45 minutes and headed towards the O2, seeing Tower Bridge, Tower of London and other things on the way.
We got off, went inside the dome and had a wonder about before settling on a mexican/brazillian place for lunch. More yumminess, more diet breaking, more oops (though one return I discovered I'd not gained anything!)
After food we headed back to the flat to chill for a bit. The kids recovered well and got to stay up to watch the whole of Dancing on Ice which they don't get to do at home!
Our last morning in London was spent nipping back to Harrods and then heading over to Buckingham Palace to show Krystal where a real Queen and Princesses live. Also of course our name is in there which they liked.
We walked around to Downing Street, past Big Ben, along to the Household Cavalry Guards before a quick cafe stop for a sandwich then on through Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square and into Chinatown which was quite something to see the week after Chinese New Year.
By this time Kory had announced he wanted to take in to school photos of him at everything in London, so on the way back to the flat, we got one at the underground station and stopped by Harrods to get one with the doorman!
A quick dinner at the flat, then off we set to the airport to fly back home. The kids were really good considering they had done so much walking all weekend, and were even sitting at 11:20pm eating toast before bed when we arrived home! This is Battersea Power Station from the top of the flat they live in.
It took me all of Tuesday to sort through the photos, and all night last night to rename them, hence the delay in the blog post! This last one is the Harrods bear at Heathrow.
An enjoyable trip was had by all of us, but I think it's fair to say the kids and grandparents are exhausted!!
