Last Thursday we had our new living room carpet fitted.  What a difference it makes! I love having something soft and warm on my tootsies rather than icy cold feet! 

Kory has now started half days at school and as such the homework has started, eek.  He's really enjoying it though which is obviously good.

Had all the usual stuff on as well like boxing, so really we haven't stopped.  And it's showing, both kids are shattered...please help us when school goes full time and Krystal starts nursery!

P.S. James and I have been married 7 years today!

On Tuesday I took Krystal into town and she got her ears pierced.  There's more to the story than that over a few months, but that's the long and short of it.  I didn't put it on at the time so as not to overshadow Kory's school day. 

She was so bravegetting it done too. I wee whimper, but that's about it, then much posing in mirrors!

I've surprised myself by letting her get it done as I always said not till she's older, but there you go, and I actually quite like it.  But more to the point she is chuffed to bits as in her eyes she is closer to being cinderella/sleeping beauty.

Today Kory started primary school.  Although starting school doesn't seem to be such a big dealas when we were little, as they go to nursery in the school first. 

He was up early, jumping about like a wee kangaroo, wanting to put his uniform on at 8am.  That sounds ok, only his first day session wasn't until 10:45am. Cue one very long morning! 

Once we did get him into his uniform, we had a photo shoot in the garden.  Of course once Kory started posing, Krystal had to get in on the act!

With the school jacket on which it wasactually too warm for today but had to have a photo!

We met up with Jamie & Leah to walk down to school as the others were in an earlier session.  The 3 of them walked nicely the whole way down too. All so cute!

When we got to school, they met with another friend Josh, and we all went round the back to the P1 doorway. 

One of the teachers shouted them in and off Kory ran without a second glance back at us!  I didn't even get a photo!

We were invited in for 10 mins to have a wee look and take a few photos, then chucked out to let them get on with it.  

So that was that, a wee wave for a photo and off we went. 

When we collected him he said he'd really enjoyed it, but was really acting a bit like "what was the fuss about!"

The main question I want an answer to is "how did my baby end up in school?" and no - I didn't cry!  I was pleased for him, not upset!

We've had a few nice days recently which is a nice ending to the school holidays.  Today we spent the day with all Kory's friends at Dizzy Rascals in the morning then the park in the afternoon.  They are really shattered tonight, Kory has been using any excuse to go on his bike now he can go it.

Over the weekend, James took the kids to a forest while I did ironing (what a rock 'n' roll life I lead eh?!)  and we pottered in the garden, went round the block several times and went to B&Q to get paint to do the skirting board we fitted (finally!) where the fireplace used to be.

We managed to eat dinner outside one night too.  It's been a sunny happy weekend!  I've discovered Krystal *loves* to pose for my new camera too!

In Aberdeen, there are 2 local radio stations, the one we listen to is Original FM. No real reason other than I like the DJ's better, and think the music selection is more varied/less repetitive. In the daytime when we're in the house, I often have the radio on while playing with the kids, so they know all their names. For ages Kory has been asking questions about how radio works, if its real people talking and when a certain newsreader comes on he jumps around saying "It's Jenny!"

So a while ago I contacted Martin Ingram (who I speak to on Twitter) & arranged for us to go in for a visit when he was on air. Kory has been asking constantly since then and today was the day. He got to see the studio, had a tour, saw the equipment, meet Jenny and then even got to press some buttons to make an advert and a song go on, got a mention and to say hi on air. But most of all now he gets what radio is and how it gets to our living room!

To say he enjoyed himself is an understatement. He's been as high as a kite all day today. Big thanks to Original FM staff for being lovely while we were in, but most of all to Martin for having us in.

Today we went on a trip to Balmedie Beach with Maria, Davie, Daniel, Josh & Leanne, Jessica & Sophie.  We spent a couple of hours at the park and had a picnic lunch there, then headed down to the beach and sand dunes.  They all had fun playing in a huge hole, then progressed to paddling - getting soaked!!  But we all had a brilliant day out and the rain even held off for us!

Of course it was the perfect chance to play with my camera on 6 moving targets!  So some snapshots and some more arty and experimental!

And lastly is Jessica after throwing herself in the sear wasdripping from head to toe. Completely unfazed, she proceeded to jump into the big sand pit they were playing in making for a very wet soggy mess! To her credit though, she wasn't bothered.  I know if Kory or Krystal did this they'd be whinging they are cold etc.

Brilliant day out.  Exhausted kids!

I've been asking Mummy for ages and ages if I can wear her makeup.  She always says "no" and "when you're a big girl" all the time.  So tonight when I asked, she said yes!  I got on some sparkley stuff on my eyes, some mascara and some lipstick.  I thought I looked very pretty.  I'm not allowed to wear it again though.

Mummy Addition - no we're not doing a Katie Price and Princess!

I've got me a shiny new toy, so watch out for even better photos (for anyone who might know anything, it's a Nikon D5000).  It's so nice to have a hobby, for years I've wished I was interested in something for me.  Outside of the family.  And I've found it, without even meaning to really. 

I'm still waiting for a bag for it to arrive, but i took it for it's first outing today to the beach.  So much to learn, focus was driving me mad, but on just taking a few shots of James and kids and a few other bits, I like it!  Huge thanks to my Mum for making it possible.xx
